Motorized Pallet Truck
A Motorized Pallet Truck normally goes by other names like: Walkie or Walkie-Rider. These pieces of machinery are basically a motorized version of a pallet jack. They are available in both "Walkie" models and "Rider" versions.
The walkie model as the name implies, is made to allow the operator to walk alongside the machinery while they lift and transport cargo. The operator stands on a small platform on the Rider model. The rider models are great for frequent transporting of cargo over extended distances within warehouses and manufacturing applications. They are really fast and maneuverable.
It is not recommended to lift and move unstable or tall loads since there are no safety cages on these models. A rider could be the best answer if you are searching for an inexpensive way of moving loads from point A to point B. If though, you must transport heavy loads short distances, and prefer to utilize a more employee-friendly unit rather than a pallet jack, the walkie model could be the best alternative.
Order Selector
An Order Selector also goes by the name of Order picker. This machine is specifically made for manual handling of less-than-pallet-load quantities in racking. There are fixed forks connected to a platform in the Man-up design. This platform elevates both the operator and the load with a purpose to facilitate manual loading and unloading from racking areas.
Order Selectors are usually very narrow aisle vehicles that can function in aisles of less than six feet. They are very useful pieces of machine in cycle counting situations as well as in physical inventories. Order selectors are available in lift heights up to 40 feet high, although models which range in the 20 to 30 foot range are a lot more popular.
