Used Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Santa Clara

Utilize a Pneumatic Forklift
You can normally find pneumatic forklifts in warehouses and shipping operations. Also referred to as pump trucks or pallet trucks, they are utilized to transport supplies and products around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight has a pump that raises the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by one individual.

Pallet trucks must be operated with care to avoid loss of control while raising heavy loads. Machine must be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstacle. Make sure that the handle turns smoothly. The pallet should be carefully stacked to ensure that nothing would fall off during transportation.

To lower the forks and release air in the pump, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks can then be pushed into the slots of the pallet. The forks must be at the center to ensure even distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Raise the forks from the ground by pumping the handle of the pneumatic lift until the pallet has completely cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and dragging it behind you. It is dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you since the momentum can cause it to go out of control. Slowly take turns and don't try to stop abruptly. Slowly stop, squeeze the lever, and the forks will lower to the ground. Finally, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent place.
