Used Nissan Pneumatic Tire Forklift Santa Clara

What is the Difference between Cushion Tire and Pneumatic Tire?

Determining the difference between cushion tire forklifts and pneumatic tire forklifts is one of the most common questions regarding this type of machine. Each and every type of tire is specifically suited for different requirements.

Pneumatic Tires have air inside of them, like tires on a vehicle. These tires are ideal for indoor usage but they are more useful in outdoor "yard" applications and on gravel and uneven surfaces.

Used mainly for indoor operations, the cushion tires are made just like a solid industrial tire. The tire would only be effective outdoors on asphalt surfaces. If you do drive cushion tires outside, there is an option to get traction tires on the front of the equipment. These are called the drive tires. The steer tires or the back tires are specifically made for steering. Traction tires situated on the back of the forklift will just wear out quicker. Thus, if you do need to work outside, having the smooth tires on the back and traction on the front would be the safest and most economical way to operate.

What is the difference between Air Pneumatic and Solid Pneumatic tires?

When trying to determine the main difference between the two tire types, it could be a bit tricky. They both operate in the same outdoor conditions such as gravel, and asphalt. The main distinction between the two kinds of tires is solid pneumatics are made of solid rubber. This means you cannot pop, gouge and puncture them because they are strong. These tires are more expensive compared to air pneumatic tires because they are made up of way more rubber. These kinds of tires are best suited for locations such as lumber yards and scrap yards where there may be a lot of debris or sharp things on the ground.

Air pneumatic tires could be punctured accidentally. When this happens, you can get flat tires from them. Before using a forklift with air pneumatic tires, be sure that the yard is free of sharp metals, nails and scrap debris and by checking your work area. In most applications, regular air pneumatic tires function really great.
