Telescopic forklifts
Telescopic forklift units are equipped with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck offering great height and versatility. The arm, or crane, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the person utilizing it to lift the load to great heights while maintaining a high degree of control. Standard lift trucks aren't able to move the cargo towards and away from the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is commonly utilized in agriculture and construction. It is better for applications where greater control and lift is required.
In situations needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments known as forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings which allow the operator to use uniform clamping force when lifting a load. It comes with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A sleep sheet forklift will usually utilize a slip sheet attachment for storing systems which don't use pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This kind of system is useful for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is meant to hoist employees is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forklift forks and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the forklift carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
