Rough terrain forklifts have been manufactured by CareLift Equipment, since the year 1962. Each day the company strives to deliver value and help their customers reach their objectives since they know the bottom line is reliability and performance.
There are 2 general kinds of boom lifts. These units are articulated boom lifts and straight boom lifts. Normally, these units are powered hydraulically. Most often straight booms are the great alternative for jobs that need a high reach with no obstructions. The turntable on the equipment could rotate 360 degrees with an extendable boom. This extendable boom could be raised vertically to below horizontal. Since the operator could steer and maneuver the vehicle whilst the boom is fully extended, it is a versatile machinery. These units come in 4 wheel drive and 2 wheel drive, as well as gas, diesel or propane configurations.
Articulated boom lifts are used for lifting cargo up and over obstacles and gain access to areas which were otherwise unaccessible. These lift units carry out tasks that straight telescopic booms cannot complete. These lifts are almost identical to the straight boom lift in most aspects except in the boom's ability to articulate. There are various articulation points on the boom in order to enable it to bend in a range of different directions allowing it to move around any objects easily in the work site.
Some heavy-duty boom lifts come equipped with outriggers so as to maintain stability whilst the boom lift is completely extended. The outriggers provide the operator with some extra safety and confidence. Correct training is necessary before utilizing boom lifts so as to ensure the jobsite, the operator and everyone working in the vicinity stays safe.
The boom lift allows for jobs requiring lots of man hours to be done in much less time. These machines have changed the material handling business and have really increased production.
