During the year 1966, Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries. At that time, he bought the manufacturing rights to a material lift which operated on compressed air. The name Genie came from the "magic in the bottle" which was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed clients and thus, the name was born.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, as the demand for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself known in numerous new markets. For example, Genie went into making telehandlers, stick booms, man-lifts, articulated booms and light towers.
Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic recession in the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered together with Terex. This company has a history obtaining machine manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold during the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Thus, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand name.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving quality and efficiency and is also dedicated to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices that have made Genie a trusted brand name over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for quality and top-of-the-line machinery.
Genie's Bi-Energy and DC machines are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, such as in industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machine along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Telescopic booms offer more horizontal reach, compared to any of the different aerial platforms. These machines are ideal for small areas or limited access areas in all kinds of environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to offer utmost productivity. These equipment deliver supreme traction and the drive speed you need to be able to travel around the job area and work site.
