Audible Devices - Motion or back-Up Alarms:
Motion alarms and backup alarms are audio device accessories that generate enough sound so that the noise is heard overtop the sounds produced from the forklift itself.
The sound generated by the audio device must be distinguishable from other audible devices or noises from the work setting. The sound should also be different from the other noise or audible devices within the work place. The audible device could employee noise exposure and end up contribute to OSHA noise limitation; hence, care must be taken.
Determine the distance and direction the sound of the audible device is made harder due to the use of hearing protection. Audible devices can occasionally get disabled from both operators and workers because they can find them really irritating. What's more, audible devices may also be objectionable to nearby residents.
Additional Application and Operator Options:
Enclosed Operator Cabs: To protect the operator from the elements, enclosed operator cabs made of tempered glass are used to help prevent injuries and reduce other concerns. Moreover, these cabs feature an emergency exit through window removal. The levels of noise are reduced at the operator's ear because of additional sound proofing.
Operator Selectable Performance Modes: For each particular application, the operator is able to choose the performance need. Additionally, it enables a supervisor to set the model's maximum performance for an operator who is just starting to learn. Being able to adjust and reduce the maximum performance of the model enables a new operator to learn the machine's operating features in a controlled setting.
Impact Monitor: The impact monitor deactivates the unit and when this happens, it requires a supervisor to activate and override the unit. This encourages the operator to be certain to manage the machinery in a more controlled way.
Dual Rear View and Panoramic Mirrors: These particular mirrors help to assist the operator in observing their tail swing area, and operating space behind the vehicle.
